WEN TAO// .ids china. ao Wen, born in China, has a broad education background. He completed his Bachelor of Architecture study in 2002 from Xiamen University, one of the oldest universities in China. In 2008, he received the Master’s degree of Housing and Urbanism from a world-known architectural school, the School of AA in the UK. During his undergraduate years, he had won many international student competitions such as, “Flexible Space” in the “ZHU” international design competition in 2001, “Recycle & Reproduce” in the “UIA Region IV student Ideas Competition” in 2001, “Green House” in “the first Ecology House Design Contest” in 2002, and the UIA Berlin Urban Design competition in 2002.

Wen Tao also has an international working experience. Before he went to AA, Wen Tao has had more than 5 and half years of working experience for XIAD in China and CPG-TSS in Singapore, completed serials of proposals and projects in China, Southeast Asia, Middle East and India. He won serials of international competitions during this period including the Marriot Hotel (2003), Robinson Plaza (2004) in China, Anna Nagar (2006) in India, Grange Road condominium (2007) in Singapore.

After graduated from AA in 2008, Wen Tao joined Zaha-hadid Architects in London. As a key architect, he was mainly working in Beijing, in charge of general architectural, MEP and interior design and coordination work. He was heavily involved in the Galaxy SOHO project, which is to be fully completed in 2012 as another landmark in Beijing after Bird Nest Stadium and CCTV center. In March 2011, he set up WhY-idesign in Beijing. With a group of talented architects, WhY-idesign has designed a few high quality interior, architecture and master planning work. WhY-idesign has been working with a few well-known corporations, such as Huijia Educational Group, Vanke, Tianyang, Alibaba, etc. By using high skill design tool and pioneer design philosophy, WhY-idesign has gained high appraises from our clients.
