Eco Woods was a visionary project that encourages and foster a novel lifestyle. It acknowledged its traditions uniquely to develop a suitable platform for Johor Bahru’s dramatic move into the future – to transcend many of its heritage and cultural values and artistic trade from region to the entire world and to be a significant and iconic development, the new gateway for Johor Bahru. Making up the fabric of a liveable and sustainable city where people will recognize this live, work, and play destination for its signature.
The design breaks up into organic low rise cubical blocks staggering from the ground to the fifth floor level with a network of intimate alleys with skylights, sky gardens, cascading water gardens carefully placed within trees, shrubs and children’s playground to create a place for residents to meet, relax and enjoy the communal space, for the young and old to gather to develop communal bonding. A matrix of alleyways forms the character and ambiance of the street shopping concept. Shoppers will break into smaller courtyards and collectively amalgamate into larger open spaces.
